What is RESET (TMJ) Balancing

The TMJ - Temporomandibular Joint, otherwise known as the jaw, is one of the most important joints in our body.  It is the joint that connects the lower jaw to our skull, and any disorder in any way can affect the whole body as this affects muscles, nerves, bones, teeth and any connective tissue.

How do I know if my TMJ is misaligned?

• Any clicking or popping sound in the jaw
• Unable to open the mouth fully or pain opening or closing the jaw
• Grinding or clenching the teeth
• Tight shoulders
• Head or neck pain including Migraines, Dizziness, Tinnitus
• Jaw tender to the touch
• Problems swallowing

What causes it?

 Possible causes include: -

• A knock to the head or jaw
  
• Stress (we have a tendancy to tense our jaw under stress or anger)
  
• Dental work - i.e keeping the jaw open too long
  
• Car accident / whiplash (however long ago)

Treatments?

There are a few options in treating TMJ problems, such as surgery, mouth guards, maniuplation of the TMJ.  All of which can be very expensive and extremely unpleasant. 

The RESET method is completely the opposite to all of these, yet is still extremely effective. 

How does RESET work?

It works on the basis of sending healing energy to all areas of the TMJ and this flow of energy is used by the body to rebalance itself thereby relaxing the jaw muscles and gently correcting the TMJ and any associated areas. 

It is a very gentle, non invasive treatment and at no time is anything inserted into the mouth.  You experience a relaxing treatment whilst laying on the therapy couch.  It can be conducted in one 90 minute session or two 45 minute sessions.
